I typically don’t cry at weddings. I think it’s because I’ve shot so many of them and I’ve seen it all. But this wedding…this wedding was different. I. Could. Not. Stop. I was a mess! In tears multiple times throughout the day because the love this family has for one another is something so so rare. Rare in the sense that it didn’t come across as mushy and “oh too cute.” It was REAL, and that’s what was so striking. I have never heard more beautiful words spoken by a mother and father about their daughter than I did at the Juhl wedding. Multiple poetic speeches were given throughout the day expressing their pride, love and thankfulness for Madeline & Taylor. It was evident in so many ways that "family" was the true theme for this celebration.
Madeline & Taylor were high school sweethearts. Life took them separate ways for awhile but eventually they found their way back to one another. Madeline radiates inner and outer beauty and Taylor is truly her prince charming. Their love together is a beautiful thing that's so contagious it will only continue to make the world a better place.
Again and again, traditions and family spoke volumes during their wedding day. One special moment that stood out was when Madeline's mother gathered all of the bride's maids, maid of honor and personal attendants into a circle. They held hands as the mother-of-the-bride thanked everyone for loving Madeline. She explained how special they all are and will continue to be in Madeline and Taylor's lives. She expressed her love for each one of them and of course how much she loves Madeline. They prayed the Hail Mary and cheered with a good ole, all hands to the center and lift...GO TEAM....Go Madeline! This was the exact same thing that her mother had done on her very own wedding day and I'm sure it will continue to be passed on through the generations. It's moments like these that are truly memorable.
Madeline's Grandfather had recently passed away making it a very emotional time as he was extremely close to Madeline & Taylor. It was a beautiful thing to see their family stop and honor his life multiple times throughout the day in, during the getting ready process, the ceremony and even during the reception.
I left this wedding wondering how was it that a family and a couple this wonderful existed? Wedding days and be hectic, they fly by, and often times the bride and groom are so wrapped up in the timeline or the small details that they don't stop to focus on what's truly important. But that wasn't the case at the Juhl Wedding. They honored family, friends, and focused on creating moments that will be passed on to generations to come. I hope these photos capture the love just as I experienced it on their wedding day.
